4 Months

Brennen turned 4 months last Friday and went today for his check up. The shots are always sad for me and he's been a little sad today but other than that everything went really well! Here are his stats at 4 months.

Weight: 13 lbs 15 oz (30%)
Height: 24 7/8 inches (40%)
Head circumference: 42.7 cm (60%)

So he's growing just perfectly! He loves grabbing, shaking, and eating toys and is past his really fussy stage. He'll stay happy for a couple hours at a time, smiles and giggles a ton and already has a great sense of humor. He's getting a little better at taking naps and sleeps through the night again usually from 9-10 at night until around 7 in the morning! He rarely wakes us up during the night and it's wonderful. He's getting to be such a good, happy baby and I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by. Matt and I love our little boy so much and lately it's hit me even more what a miracle our baby is. He keeps us entertained, that's for sure! :)
Lately we've spent some time out in the beautiful fall weather walking in the Laramie range or trying to catch fish in the Laramie river so here are a few pictures of that as well as some of 4 month old Brennen and our family.

Boise Idaho!

As I mentioned in the previous post, we drove 10 hours last weekend to visit my sister and her family in Star Idaho (about 11 or so miles from Boise. At least that's what the sign said). :) It was SO much fun and so nice to get away for a few days. We (especially me) were really sad to leave but it was good to be home after so much travel.
On Saturday we went to a place called "Bounce." It had all those huge blow up toys that are really fun. There was an obstacle course, velcro wall, jousting and bungee, a tall steep slide, and more. It was as much fun for us as it was for the kids. :) Here are some pictures of that and of us at Christena's house.

Matt and I stuck to the velcro wall
Christena and I jousting. As you can see, I won. :)

The husbands went at it next. Rik got pay backs for Christena's defeat by beating Matt.

Brennen and Matt coming out.

Brennen was pretty tired by the end.

A view from above in the house. Rik is teaching Tanner piano (I REALLY want one of those!!!) and Christena is laying by Brennen.
Brennen hanging out with his aunt and cousins that are closest to him in age.

On the way back we stopped and stayed the night in Lyman and saw the rest of my family. It was so good to see everyone!

Sleep anyone???

This past weekend Matt, Brennen and I made the 10 hour trek to Star, Idaho to visit my sister Christena and her family. We drove there at night and I'm glad we did but we were both tired all weekend. We had SUCH a good time though and it was so much fun to see my sister and spend time with her and her family. Pictures will be in the next post.
But to top off our tiredness, my little "sleeps through the night at one month old" boy has now decided to stop sleeping through the night. The past week or so he's been waking us up at around 2:30 AM and then he's up for good before 6:00. Up until then he had been waking us up at about 5:00 at the earliest but usually not until closer to 7:00! What happened??? And he still won't take naps. UG! I've tried so many things and it seems like nothing I do ever works! Either that or I'll do something and it works once but won't again and now he's only getting about 7 hours of sleep at night and hardly sleeps during the day. I think a big factor is that he no longer stays swaddled. He'll usually fall asleep at night (not during the day for some reason) when we swaddle him but when he "busts out" of the swaddle he wakes up earlier. I knew the swaddling days would soon be over but I guess I was hoping they'd last longer.
I guess I just needed to vent that but if anyone has any suggestions I'm open to them! :)
